PROPOSAL TURNED DOWN BY AUSTRALIAN WORKERS. Received January 30. 12.40 a.m. SYDNEY, January 29. The Australian Workers’ Union conference debated at length and negatived a proposal in favour* of taking a plebiscite on the One Big Union proposal. It is stated that the idea of the Australian Workers’ Union officers is to extend its scope so that it may become the 0.8. U. and control the political administration of the Commonwealth.
