THE PATEA SEAT.
A large and representative gathering was addressed by Mr G. V. Pearce at the Hawera. Racecourse kiosk on Monday night, Mr J. Gray presiding. Mr Pearce received a very attentive hearing, and at the conclusion of his address, which was on similar lines to those previously reported, Mr G. Spratt moved a hearty vote of thanks and confidence, and also moved that Mr Powdrell should stand down. Mr R. McLean, in a few well-chosen w.ords, seconded the resolution. There being no amendment, the chairman put the motion, and it was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the chair and cheeres for Mr Pearce concluded the meeting.
