THE POOR SUFFERERS.
In a recent speech the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald went one better than Mr Wilford, who asserted that the National Government "only lived on the strength and initiative of the Liberal members of the Cabinet." Mr Mac Donald makes the same claim as regards the Government of last session. "The Liberals," he said, "were sufferers for going into the National Government, and also for going out of it. They had prepared all the legislation that had been placed on the Statute Book during the last session, but all of it now was placed to the credit of the Reform Government."
We can think of one or two Wardites who did not lose anything by going into the National Government. And if all last session's legislation was prepared by the Wardite exmembers of the National Government, how is it that Wardite candidates all over the country have been sneering at the -legislation?
