THE GRAND.

"ALADDIN AND THE WONDER-

FUL LAMP." 0

CHILDREN'S PICTURE MATINEE

TO-DAY AT 2.30

The glory of the East and all the progress that has been accomplished in the West mcct1 in the newest Fox Kiddies Feature, "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp." It is a thing of beauty beyond the power of the imagination to describe, and without regard to whether they are big or little, those who act in it set a standard of excellence that few grown-up actors can surpass. This is the Fox Kiddies Feature where the children meet their elders on common ground, and ask no favours., The principal roles are taken by children. They carry on the theme of the, story and they stand beside the older folk who appear in the play with perfect confidence which is fully justified. We have already appreciated the marvellous work of Francis Carpenter and Vorginia Lee Corbin, but those who thought of their ability are startled by their dramatic achievements in this brilliant play. This might also be said of some of the others in the cast, for as far as their work permits them to go, the acting of all the children is a perfect revelation even to those who have learned to look upon the company of youngsters whom Mr Fox has brought together with the most appreciative eyes. Most of us believe that we knew the story of-'Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp," but the new screen version of it has shown it with a power and a beauty that was hidden in the written words. The East is disclosed with the veil of mystery -magnified, but the bizarre splendor of its cities and its palaces and its life is brought out as it has never been seeri before. This picture will be screened every afternoon this week at the matinee only. Plan for reserves at Upton's.
