BOXING.
HEAVY-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP.
An agreement for a fifteen rounds' contest for a purse ef £50, and the professional heavy-weight championship of New Zealand, between A. Pooley, holder, and; G. Mo drich,: was signed in Auckland last weel^ Pooley recently defeated W. EVansfat Te Aroha, and Modrich won the amateur heavy-weight contest at the last tournament of the Auckland Boxing Association. The contest will take place in* the. Auckand Town Hall on September 15. Several other interesting bouts are also being arranged.
