Durin"- the four days from May Ist to. 4th, 39 cases of influenzn were notified in the Dominion. In tho Auckland district there were eight cases, all mild; in Wellington 13 cases, including one pneumonic at New Plymouth and one at Eltham; in Canterbury J. 3 cases, including four pneumonic in Christehurch and suburbs; and three severe cases in Timaru and Pareora district. There were no notifications in Otago. Theje had been three deaths from influenza "recently—one at Pahiatua on April 27tji. and one .it Marton, and one at Sprfydon (both on May 1.) To-dnv the temperature of earh man on tho Manuka wq£ taken, and in each case was pronounced normal. Over 20 contacts are to rejoin the Manuka tomorrow. There are at present nine caaes in hospital on Somes Island, three or four being ver,y severe. There are five convalescents. There is a complete staff on the island, ioclud'ug three nurses and orderlies, an.l everything possible Is being doiie for the patients.
