Minister of Health stated that the work of extending quarantine stations is proceeding as rapidly as possible and soon stations would be up to •Jie point where ships' crews and a fair number of passengers could be accommodated . »■ It was hoped1 to be able to resume a jartial passenger service oy allowing first of all bona fide New Zealanders in Australia to return. Mr Russell had received trom the Government agent at Sydney a letter acknowledging a cable authorising advances oo necessitous New Zeaianaers. When the letter was written, only one application ■foad been made for an advance.
