FROZEN MEAT.

RELIEVING THE CONGESTION,

(Per Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, April 23

The congestion of meat in the various freezing 'works of the Auckland district, due to the shortage of shipping space, will be relieved to a fair extent the next few days. With the lonic (due to-morrow), and the Corinthic (on the 28th) there will be an outlet for bqth meat and cheese. The Corinthic is due to load 35,000 freight carcases and 23,000 crates of cheese. Space has also been secured in the lonic, Re.muera and Arawa. This will permit of the Horotiu works, which have been closed down on account of congestion, to re-open about the middle of next week. It is anticipated that ample shipping space would be available from now onwards to gradually effect a clearance of the heavy stocks held in cold storage.
