AN APPRECIATION.
The following is the text of a letter addressed to the Acting Prime Minister, Sir Jas. Allen, by the Wanganui branch of the W.C.T.U.:—
Dear Sir, —In the name and on be-1 half of the "V" branch of the W.C.T.U. we desire to express to you our high appreciation of the noble stand you took, and your outspoken utterances on the liquor question just prior to the recent poll. We are delighted to learn that you are such an ardent supporter of Prohibition, and your actions have already proved to be to us an inspiration m our work to redeem our fair Dominion from the curse of strong drink. Although downcast with the result of the poll, j rest assured we are not destroyed, and with the assistance of your valued and continued influence and counsel we are still "out to win."
