Lieut.-Colonel T. W. McDonald, commanding the Wellington District, arrived in town by last evening's 'train.
The death is reported from Sydney of Mr Lewis de Grone, one of the <best • known of Australian bandmasters and conductors of orchestras as the age or 58 years.
Dr Mansen, principal of the Southland Technical High School, was last
flight unanimously appainted Principal of the Christchurch Technical College in succession to Mr J. H. fiowell, who goes to Wellington Technical College.
