Congress adjourned after a day and night sitting. Republican, obstruction resulted in ttie loss of numbers of important measures. A Bill '.allotting the money necessary for the- government and ownership of the railways' failed to pass. Bresident Wilson's nomination of Cabinet officers and ambassadors was not endorsed. President Wilson made the statement that Congress's failure to pass legislation showed that a group of men had deliberately chosen to embarrass the administration and imperil the financial interests of the [country's entire railway system.

President Wilson signed a Bill guaranteeing the price of wheat at two dollars and twenfty-six cents a bushel.
