The hon. treasurers have been informed by t/he bank, where the monfly was lodged, thafc the lodgments turned tint without a single error. Groat credit is therefore due to Mesdnmes Silk and Jackson for their accurate checking and counting- When, we think thafc the money handled was made up of some 109 cheques, £239 worth of cotes, 1,112 half-crowns, 970 florins, •3.000 shillings, 1,480 sixpences, 1,337 threepences, and 2.835 pennies and half-pennies, it must bs admitted thai theso ladies had no lijxht task, and they are to be congratulated on their accuracy. The hours worked by these ladies were also considerably over the visual eight-hour day. They both started at 8.30 a.m.. did not leave the building all day, and were still going strong at 10 p.m., at about which hour they finished, leaving the two treasurers to carry on
