Sir .Tames Allen informed a "Chronicle"' reporter last evening tluit the matter of die fire disaster bad been brought under the notice of the Prime Minister, who had instructed tho Under-Set retary of Lands to send a ranger immediately to inspect the Riietihi. and Ohakune districts, to report fully as co tho damage done, and render all possible assistance.
