WAVERLEY TOWN BOARD.
At. the meeting of the above there were present: Messrs Merriman, Da-vis, Dunn, Taylor and Napier.
It was resolved that the Beard make application for an overdraft of £1200 to the Bank N.S.W., and thatthe chairman and Mr. Davis sign the application.
'Lighting revenue for the month amounted to £22 Bs.
Mention was made of the spread of Cape Daisy in different. parts of the district.
Mr. Prouse waited on the Board with respect to the state of his dwelling, asking for some repairs.
The matter of replacing lamps in the surfaceman's residence was fully discussed, and it was resolved that the Board cannot see its way to supply lamps for his private house.
The matter of repairs was left with, the chairman to attend to.
The chairman brought up the matter of supposed neglect of returned soldiers. He said the usual cofurse was for the military to send notice to the chairman of the Town Board, and in every case when this was done, someone has been there to officially meet the soldiers, but in the case where the neglect was alleged the notice, did not come as usual.
Several methods of concreting
kerbs and channels were reviewed, and after some discussion it was decided to go fully into the matter at next meeting, in the meantime the clerk to prepare a statement of finances for the Board-;
Part of the new by-laws were supplied to the Board for consideration, and it was decided to hold a special meeting to go :nto the matter as soon as the solicitor completes the set.
