GBEAT JOY IN FRANCE.
OVER 11,000 PRISONERS TAKEN.
LONDON, Oct. 29
There has been a sweeping French victory, causing intense joy in France. Hindenburg chose one of the strong ridges in France for the challenge of battle, which resulted ma demoralising defeat of the enemy. Over 11,000 .prisoners have been taken. It is no longer a case of falling back to take up new positions, but a retreat to avoid losses.
