ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES.
WANGANUI AND RANGITIKEI.
A RANGITIKEI PROTEST,
(Per Press Association.")
MARTON, Oct. 29. The Rangitikei County Council resolved that the Council object to the proposed new electoral boundaries of Rangitikei on the following grounds: (1) That the portion included of the Wanganui borough and suburban area on the left bank of the Wanganui River has no community of interest with the remainder of the proposed electorate, which is essentially a country constituency, and should therefore be excluded.
(2) That the Ridings of Otairi and Rangatira and the southern portion of the Ridings of the Rangitikei County are more closely associated with the adjoining Ridings of the county than with the Oroua, and consequently should be included.
The Council suggest, therefore that the Rangitikei River, which bounds the county on the eastern side, is also the natiiral boundary for the electorate.
