Secret service agents have discovered that Germans are secretly holding in the United States immense quantities of cotton, copper, oil, and raw materials. These stocks have been accumulated for use after the war. These materials will bo commandeered and will be used for America's war preparations. The seizures seriously affect German's post-war trade plans. WASHINGTON, October 26. The American visible wheat supply is 14,669,000 bushels. LONDON, Oeeober 26. The maximum prices of Australian butter have advanced to 220s per cwt, i—d of New Zealand to 2245. AMSTERDAM, October 26. Travellers from Frankfort say that the town is panic-streiken owing to the Allies' air reprisals. Travellers were not allowed to leave their hotels after 5 o'clock in the afternoon for five days, as Allioi air operations were reported near.

The French at Gobineaux captured two enormous guns, each served by forty men. They fire a torpedo carrying 200 lbs of explosives, which the Germans intended to use agiinst the Chemin dcs Dames. Eatii gun had a. supply of 100 torpedoes.

Mr Balfour will ask the Commons on the SOtli for an additional credit of 400 millions, making a total war expenditure of 5692 millions.
