DISTRESS IN GERMANY.
WASHINGTON, October 26. Official advices show that the political and economic distress in Germany, also discontent is acute. The Socialists are most active and^ars threatening to tie up th'j factories if the war extends into another winter. Thsre have been :nore frequent uprisings in several districts, including Berlin, where the soldiers participated in the disorders. Germany's population wants peace, and the people declare it must be concluded by November.
Workmen are demanding increased pay and a more liberal apportionment of food. Allied air raids are increasing the discontent. A raid on Essen killed 800 soldiers who were attending a circus.
