Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Palmer* ston North, report having a very good entry of both sheep and cattle at their Marton sale on Monday, 22nd instant. I here was a good attendance of buyers, and a rerv satisfactory clearance' was effected. The following are the pricss realised:—
Sheep.—Mixed »ge ewes and Jambs, dte , J9s, to £2; small mixed hoggets, -&is Id; 4 and 6-tooth forward wethers £2 6s 4d.
Cattle.—Yearling heifers, £o .Is £5 10s, to £5 13s 6d; yearling Shorthorn heifers, £7 os, mixed yearlings, ~o 13s; 2-year heifers, £7 :Us, £7 15s 6d, to £7 16s fc'd; forward cows. £11 • cows and calves. £11 13s to £12 15s--20-month steers, £9 C 3 to £10.
At Palmerston North on Thursday we held our Annual Spring Cattle Fair, m conjunction with the Associated Auctioneers. An unusually heavy yarding came forward, soir.j 2000 head ne.-ng penned, of which we yarded 100 U. Bidding for bullocks, iorward cows, and yearling heifers was not up to recent market quotations, Out for good breeding cows, cow-s and calves, and eearJing steers, competition was ' good.
