ANNUAL MEETING OF SWIMMING CLUB. [

There was a representative gathering of members and intending lnembeik of the Taihape Swimming Club. Mr A 1> N. Train said that the club had considerably improved its financial status since the last annual meeting, the present balance at the bank being in the vicinity of £30.

A motion of hearty appreciation was passed to Mr W. Hay (late secretary) ior his indefatigable and enthusiastic work in connection with the club The following officers for the coming season were elected: Patron, J. F Studholme; president, E. W. A large number of returned soldiers and residents of Taihape gave a most cordial welcome home to Quartermasterbergt. b. Bason, son of Mr and Mrs T Bason of Taihape. Q.M.S. Bason left with the Main Body of the Expeditionary Fore© over three years ago, and has been on active service ever since winch is a record to be prqud of. While m England, Q.M.S. The guest of the evening suitably replied, acknowledging the good wishes expressed, and stating his pleasure "at! being once again amongst his familr and friends at Taihape.
