. WELLINGTON, Oct. 10. lh e Legislative Coiiticil resumed at 8 o'clock .instead of 2.30, owing to Sir Francis Bell having been absent attending the funeral of the late Hon. J. JL Ormond. t \^u c of,absence "^as given the Hon. J. 1 isher for the remainder of the session, on account of illness. Sir Francis Bell gave notice ti> move next evening the Council's appreciation of the services rendered the Dominion by the late Hon. J. D. Ormond.
Six local Bills were t>assed through all stages without amendment.
The Council adjourned at 9 p.m
