AUSTRIA IN DIRE PERIL.
ROME, August 31
The Austrians anrounce that the Italian cavalry are marching on Lasbach. It is believed the announcement is intended to justify the necessity of evacuating Trieste and the Carso to enable the armies to concentrate for the defence of Lasbach.
French experts write that if the Italians, after the occupation of Monte Saute and Hermada. follow the road to Trieste or the road by which Napoleon marched to Vienna to strike Austria vitally, the invasion will q.uiculy result in the renewal of Austrian overtures for a separate peace, not cnly,\v?vh. Italy, but with all the Allies.
