CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 1. The General Post Office was crowded all morning with applicants for the War Loan. Following arc details of loan business transacted a,t ■ Christchurch Post Oftico to-day': 4£- per cent. loan, £45,345; war loan certificates (£1561 for late dolivery), £7425; Post Uince war bonds, £14,800. The largest individual contributions £11,000, £10,000, and' £2800. Ihe directors of the New Zealand Refrigerating Co. decided to invest £21,400 in the War Loan. The
amount represents the whole of the pfe- - imum payable by shareholders on the new issue of shares. The Christchurch . iramway Board subscribed £2,800 to the VVar Loan.- .
