MINEFIELDS SAVE ENEMY.
Received 5.5 p.m., Aug 19 LONDON, Aug.' 18. tJ^ Ad«»ralty reports: Light naval forces, which were scouting in the German Bight, on Thursday, sighted an enemy destroyer. Fire was opened and the enemy chased. She was repeatedly hit, and set on fire, but es- ? a?l ™r°ugh the mist, over the minefield. &nemy mine-sweepers were sighted shortly afterwards. We opened a heavy fire, and at least two were severely damaged. We were unable to follow, .owing to the minefields. A submarine attacked our vessels during the engagement, and another attacked after the action, both without result, our vessels being undamaged.
