CORRESPONDENCE.

HUT AT FLYING SCHOOL.

(Extract from "New Zealand Herald," luesday, 20th July, 1917.)

Sir,—A. few friends interested in the * lying School at Kohimarama have started a fund, to be called "the Flying School Hut Fund,' for erecting anil furnishing » common rcom for the cadets, to be used as a reading- and sit-ting-room. At present there is no accommodation beyond their sleeping tents where they can meet or sit in the evening. We feel that this is an urgent need, especially during the long nights of the winter. As these boys are offering their lives in a special sense to their country, it is not asking too much to give them the ordinary shelter piven to soldiers in camp. It would. not be fair to ask the Walsh brothers, who have done such excellent work in tho face of great difficulties, to do this. Wo therefore appeal to the public to assist with funds such a reasonable and necessary work. Dr Maguire, of the Auckland Hospital, has kindly consented to act as treasurer of the fund, and any amounts sent to him will be gratefully acknowledged. F. W. GORDON.

(Mrs. SherrifF. of 68 Ingestre St., is interesting herself in the above appeal, and will be pleased to receive, acknowledge, and forward contributions.)
