(Per Prpiw Asuoeiftfoa.) WELLINGTON. Aug. 17. Anti-cyclonic pressure and fair weather have prevailed generally, but rm-
settled conditions have ruled at times in the southernmost districts, where a slight depression passed during Thursday night. Northerly and easterly breezes have predominated. Present indications are for increasing easterly ' and northerly winds, and dull, misfcy conditons, with rain following. Tho barometer has a falling tendency, especially in the northern districts, where ! the conditions are somewhat threaten- . ing.
