SOLDIERS COUPONS.
«> ; —' A USEFUL NEW SCHEME.
The new soldiers' coupons which were Jirst placed on sale in Wellington last week, immediately attracted public attention, and ai'e likely to become a very popular form of gift to send to the front. The idea is that the holder of the coupons is entitled to exchange them for food or any description of goods that can be obtained at Y.M.C.A. canteens. As is generally known, these huts or canteens follow the men very closely, wherever they are engaged, and as a matter of fact the New Zealanders ar» better supplied in this respect than any other section of the Army. ■
The Post Office has undertaken the handling and distribution of tnese coupons, and is issuing them from every money-order office throughout the Dominion at their face value, and free of all exchange. They are done in neat little half-crown and five shillings booklets, containing ten and twenty 3d. coupons. They should be especially valued by people who wish to avoid the extravagance, waste and uncertainty of sending individual parcels, which may never reach their destination, or may be quite useless when they.do. The coupon system is designed to. enable the soldier to get what" he wants., just at the, time when he is able to make use of '. it.
