The High Commissioner's market report, dated London 11th, is as follows, quotations, unless otherwise specified, bemg average market prices en spot:— Meat. —Heavy supplies of inferior and medium grade are in poor demand, and are sailing at comparatively low prices. Holders are anxious to sell Defore .the "Government regulations regarding maximum prices are in force. All descriptions of frozen meat continue in good demand. N.Z. mutton 8 7-Bd, ewe mutton B£d; Australian mutton lOd; Argentine mutton, lOd; Argentine lamb, lid. N.Z. beef, no supples available; Argentine 'beef, quotations nominal, hinds 14d, fores 10 l-Bd. The butter market continues firm otmg to continued small supplies. Banish butter, no supplies available; N.Z. stocks exhausted; Canadian and Irisn creamery, Australian and Argentina, are selling freely at maximum prices, 2065"; unsalted butter, 3s more. Cheese.—The market continues firm. English cheddar 1325. A quantity of Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and United States "flats" has been released by order of the' Government at 130s Bd, on condition that the retail price per 15 must not exceed Is 4d. Hemp.—Manila hemp continues firm. The N.Z. market is quiet, but steady. Quotations are nominal. N.Z. good fair on spot £93, August-October shipment £92. N.Z. high point fair £90, N.Z. fair on spot £90. July-September shipment £89.
Wheat. —The market remains as last reported. It is difficult to find buyers, and prices are unchanged. The oats market is quiet, and prices are slightly Canadian '62s 6d, American
