RIFLE SHOOTING.
On Easter Monday teams of ten men from the Linton and Rangrbikei Rifle J3lubs fired a match against the Wanganui Defence Rifle Club. The visitors, who arrived by the morning train, were driven to the local club's range at Aramoho, where they were welcomed by Captain Swan. After partaking of i refreshments, firing commenced, seven shots each at 300, 500, and 600 yds. A feature of the shooting was the wonderfully even performance of the Bulls team, ;who proved the winners, their team averaging nearly 90 points a man. At the conclusion of the match Mr Brown, on behalf of the visitors, called for three cheers for the Wanganui club, whom he thanked for their hospitality. Mr Anderson, vice-president of the latter club, suitably responded, hoping that the matches with the Bulls and Linton clubs would become an annual fixture. The visitors then left for home by the evening train.
