WANGANTJI WOOL, SKINS. HIDES AND TALLOW SALES.
Levin and* Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding the sale held on the 30th November :—
We hold our usual sale to-day (Thursday) -offering 1000 hides and <?-alf skitis, 20 casks and 150 tins of tallow. Owing to tho decision of the Government to take both wool and skins, wo did not catalogue either of these lines. Hide buyers wero well represented, arid competition was very keen, and prices most satisfactory. ' We quote:— Ox hides, 52-60 lbs.,'l^d: ditto'4o- ' 45 lbs., IOJd to,ll*d; cow hides, bsst, 40-50 11)5.,.12d to 12 1-8 d; cow hides, farmers*, lid to ll£d; cut and slippy hides. TJd to lid; calf skins, 10 7-8 d to 12d; yearlings, 10d;. cut and slippy calves. Gjjd to 10d; bull hides 7d; steers lOd; horse hides 5s 6d to 11s. Tallow in shipping condition, £28 10s to £30 per ton. -$iiis, £28 10s per ton to £29 ]os.- Rough fat 19s. - Our next sale is scheduled Lo be held on Jan. 11, 1917.
