ART GALLERY SALES.
LONDON, November 26. A Bill is before Parliament to enable the National Gallery to sell superabundant works and obtain funds to purchase masterpieces when offered. Government grants to public Art Galleries are likely to be restricted for [many years owing to the war. The National Gallery possesses many examples of the best articles of Dutch schools, and there are good opportunities to dispose of superfluous works, as American collectors are paying high prices. Opponents of the Bill declare that private collectors -will not bequeath, pictures to the nation if trustees aro empowered to cell.
