PATEA HOSPITAL BOARD
FORCED INTO A CORNER,
It appears that the Patea Hospital Board has been forced into a corner, owing to increased expenditure in building, and to the backwardness of so many pea-sons, who have been treated at the hospital, in failing to meet their obligations for maintenance. Action, we understand, is to be taken against a numer of delinquents. In the meantime the Board is faced with a deficit of £517 at the end of the year, and at a special meeting to'consider th,e matter it was decided to make a levy of Ud. in the £100 on the Patea Borough Council. Patea County Council and Waverley Board. The book debts total between £800 and £900.
