LAST DAY AND NIGHT OF "THE BIRTH OF A NATION."

A MIGHTY SPECTACLE,

AT HIS MAJESTY'S

Another crowd filled His Majesty's Theatre last night to view the wouderiul kinema production, "The Birth of a Nation." This picture is the most ambitious both as a production and as to its subject matter that any filmmakers have ever ventured. it tells of a period in the history of the American people which has had the most lasting effect on the nation. The events of that period have been the subject of much writing, among it the best writing that has ever bsen done in the United States. >So with this picture version. It is the best piece of film that has ever been shown, in any country. The story as told by the picture is all related in Thomas Dixon's novel and play "The Claaisman." The events on which that story is built happened in two epochs, the period of the Civil War, and the succeeding period during which came societies or: committees of vigilance in several parts of the States, and the rise also of a great secret organisation called " The Ku Klux Klan." The battles of the Avar, and the exploits of the Ku Klux afford ample scope for a great pictorial spectacle. There will be a special matinee this afternoon at 2-30, when children will be admitted at halfprice. "The Birth of a Nation" season closes to-night, and there should be crowded houses on both occasions.
