NEW ZEALAND WAR CONTINGENT ASSOCIATION.

WANGANUI HELP APPRECIATED. Sir, —I shall jbe much obliged if you will publish the'enclosed copy of a iet\ter 1 have just received from Mrs. E. A. Wilson, assistant hon. secretary of the New Zealand War Contingent Association Visiting Committee. This letter was written in acknowledgment of a gift, which had been organised by some ladies of Wanganui, who wished to do something for our wounded men ill England, especially for those who have just come out of the hospital. And those who have given their assistance will doubtless be glad to hear that their work has arrived safely and is of such value. The work of despatching the parcels, sent by parcel post, was entrusted ta me, and several more parcels have been sent since Mrs. Wilson wrote. It is also thought Mrs. Wilson's letter may be of interest and use to others who are working for the New Zealand War Contingent Association, as snowing what garments are most needed, and also tiiat such things as we can send from here are of such great value to those who are working for our wounded boys in England,—l am, yours etc. DOROTHEA G. PALMER. 6 Purneli St., Wanganui. Dear Mrs Palmer, —We have now unpacked all the.parcels that have arriv- | ed from you up to date. The last ones contained 33 pairs of socks, 21 shirts, 30 undershirts, 22 pants, 4 scarves and 3 pairs of mittens. They have arrived in excellent condition and we are more l grateful than I can say to you for sending them. Will you kindly thank | all your helpers on behalf of the asso- ; ciation. The shirts, under-shirts and ; pants are the things that we wa.nt such large quantities of, and^ as I think I told you before, it is getting (increasing, ly difficult to buy these. We have to pay a great deal more now than we did originally, and the quality is not nearly so good, so that it is a great help to have these parcels coming from time to time. —Believe me, your sincerely, ' ORIANA F. WILSON, Asst. Hon. Secretary, N.Z. War Contingent Association. 13 Victoria St., Westminster. 16th May 1916.
