WANGANUI CLUB'S MEETING

The July meeting of the Wanganui Coursing Club was concluded on Saturday in tine weather. The hares proved too good or the dogs in most cases, the majority of them getting straight homo without being turned. Nevertheless some excellent coursing rewarded the large crowd of spectators. Results wero as. follows : — Open Stake. —First round : Mr J. R. Fosters' Britain's Glory beat Mrs. .T. Mills' Prince Marshall; Mr H. Diver's Kitchener beat Mr J. Fitzgerald's Erin's Star; Mr Galbraith's Wild Bale beat Messrs Opie and Bennett's Katipo; Mr H. Sole's Stop lt 3 a bye. Semi-final : Wild Dale beat Britain's Glory; Kitchener a bye. Owing to Kitchener having a split foot ho was unable to run off with Wild Daio. and the latter therefore received j the stake. Maiden Stake. —Semi-final : Messrs. Prico and Wellington's Last Post beat Messrs Malcolm and Goodall's Maori Chief. Mr Jcnkinson's Red Pirate beat Mr K. Wilson's Black Queen. Final. —Last Post beat Red Pirate. Supplemenary Stake (first round). — Rainbow beat Princess aMrshall, Indian Princess beat Positive Proof; Warstep beat Phospjhorous; Champion 80110 beat Night Attack; Piastre beat O'Leary V.C. (Second round) : Rainbow beat Indian Princess: Warsten beat Champion Eello; iaPstre a bye. (Semi-final): Rainbow beat Piastre; Warstep a bye. (Final) : p.Wrstep beat Rainbow. The final was a groat course, though short, Wai^tcp outrunming her opponent and catching Tier on the fly under the judge's box. A successful smoke concert was hoM in the evening at the Metropolitan Hotel, and was attende] by the membars of tb.o cinb and the visitors.
