In these days, when the cost of living engages so much attention, the public, particularly business men and visitors to the town, will note with interest an advertisement by the proprietor of the Rutland Hotel drawing attention to a, new departure at that popular hostelry—the best lunch in town, at the moderate charge of la. Metaphorically saying the advertised menu speaks for itself, including as it does the following courses: Soup, fish, entrees, grills, roasto (vegetables in reason), sweets and salads. The cuisine is under the direction of one of the best chefs in New. Zealand, a fact which visitors will speedily be able to prove for themselves. This new enterprise will doubtless meet with the success it 'lesftrvea. \ Mr. J. H. Keesing advertises to sell nn account of Mrs. Bridges, on the River Bank, near Aramoho Bridge, on Wednesday next, a useful lot of roofing iron, timber, etc. The whole will be sold without reserve.
