A GREAT TRAVEL SUBJECT.

AUSTRALIA'S UNKNOWN," AT HIS MAJESTY'S TO-NIGHT.

To-night at H^s Majesty's Theatre, a splendid series of views of exploration in the Never-Never country of Australia will be screened. It deals with a journey of many thousands of miles into the Northern Territory of Australia, un r dertaken by F. Birtles, the intdepid exploring motorist, and Mr Frank Hurley, who is at present with the Shaekleton Antarctic Expedition. Few men were better qualified to gather the wonderful scenes and mysterious customs ■of the country in picture form than are these two. It goes without saying that in their long trip they saw many things worth photographing; things of whien the majority of people are entirely ignorant. u Some of the scenes show North Australia's wild animals, alligators and crocodiles, wild dogs, iguanas, wombats, 'possums, bears, anil wild cats, wild horses, beautiful birds, and remarkable ant-hills. They met with black fellows, and some of their native customs are shown, including the corroborree. Much of the■,scenery is very strange, and station Ijftj also enters into the picture. The beautiful photography makes the pictures most interesting, and "Australia's Unknown' should be seen by both adults and children. Some excellent supporting films include "A Messenger of Gladness,'; a child study in which a youngster takes a walk on Thanksgiving Day and makes many people happy and more kindly to one another; "The Herring Harvest at Yarmouth/ is a.-newseries of a big industry. Syd. Chaplin appears in his first Keystone comedy, "Amongst the Mourners." which will make many laugh as they never laughed before. ■''Thumb-prints and Diamonds" depicts a smart detective yarn with plenty of go in it. "Pheasant Shooting for*our Wounded Heroes" should be interesting, while the latest Gazette contains incidents from the principal theatres of operations.
