NOTES ON CASUALTIES.

WELLINGTON, May 5. Private C. V. Wallace,! reported as being wounded in the abdomen, is a son of Mr. Thomas Wallace, of the Public "Works Department, recently transferred to Auckland. Private Wallace, wlio was originally posted to the N.Z. A.M.C., left New Zealand with the- 3rd Reinforcements, attached to the Auckland, Infantry Company. Private Wallace was a tailor by occupation, and was formerly employed by Messrs. Veitch and Allan. An elder son of Mr. T. Wallace left New Zealand with the main body, now operating in the Dardanelles. Private E. W. Cowdrey, wounded at the storming of the Dardanelles, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cowdrey, of "Frogmore," Stairway, Rangitikei, and grandson of the [ate Mr Edwin Cuff and a nephew of Mr. W. Masterson, Lower Hutt. He is 18 years of age, and is a well-known Rugby forCHRISTCHURCH, May 5. Lieutenant E. H. S. Batchelor, reported wounded, is the eldest son of Major H. S. Batchelor, quartermaster of the Ist Canterbury Regiment, and 21 years of age. Private S. T. Reid, of Canterbury Infantry Battalion, reported wounded in the head, was a surveyor, and his people reside at Foxton. Prior to joining the Exp?ditionary Force he was employed as a surveyor on the Ashley Gorge road works under the Public Works Department. Private J. C. Mullins, reported wounded, prior to joining the force was a member of the literary staff of the "N.Z. Referee," and a prominent football and ijennis player.
