A seven-roomed house at Temiukia, occupied by Hugh Hoare, and most of its contents, wag burned on Sunday evening. The fire was started by.Mrs Hoare exploding a kerosene lamp by blowing down its chimney to extinguish at. The fire was outside the pressure water area. The Timaru Borough Clerk reports the receipts from motor dues for 171 days at £736, from the Bay tennis courts £53, and the bathing sheds £584.
