The Rand "Daily Mail" says that the result of the elections must arrest the attention of the whole of South Africa. The public have unmistakably expressed their.opinion 'on~the baniishnient without trial, and the repressive policy foreshadowed in the Peace Preservation Bill.
Tho "Star" regards the result merely as a temporary Labour-ascendancy.
