CANADIAN MINISTER'S ATTITUDE CRITICISED.

OTTAWA, March 20. The Senate debates the attendance of Mr Cochrane, Minister of Railways, at a Home Rule meeting in England, when a presentation will be made to Sir Edward Carson.

Mr Chiquette asked,if this meant that the Canadians were against Home Rule. Canadians were loyal, and ivould be displeased if a 'Minister went to England and gave countenance to those who proposed to fight against the King. Senator Laugheed replied that Mr CochTane's loyalty was above question. Senator Cloran declared that Mr Cochrane was guilty of treason and the Government ought to dissociate itself from such an action.

Senator Laugheed retorted that Mr Cochrane was a loyal member of the Senate. *
