ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS' REPORT. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Marton, report on their week's sales: — At Hunterville on Monday we had a good yarding of sheep and a small one of cattle, and have to report n good sale. At Taihape on Wednesday there were good yardings of sheep and cattle, nearly every lot selling at late rates. At Mangaweka on Thursday a good yarding of sheep met with a strong demand, all lots selling at prices in favour of vendors. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— At Palmenston North on Thursday we had a moderate entry of sheep and a heavy, yarding of cattle. There was a good atte-ndiance of buyers, and competition was brisk, every pen selling under the hammer at prices in favour of the vendors. We quote.— . Sheep: Woolly lambs at 8s to 8s lid. Cattle: Weaners small 18s to 235, medium weaner heifers 34s to 34s 6d, weaner heifers good £2 3s 6d to £2 6s, mixed weaners 31s 6d, good weaner steers £2 5s to £2 75., store cows £4, forward' cows £4 15s to £5 195.,, fat and forward cows £6 to £6 Bs., yearling heifers £2 10s 6d, 2-year heifers £3 18s 6d. bulls £5 2s 6d. * On Wednesday at Taonui we held a mos tsuooessful sale of high-class dairy stock on account of Mr F.W. Koberstein. There was a large attendance of both local and outside buyers, resulting in keen competition being experienced throughout. The following prices were realised: — Appendix heifers in calf 10 gs to 133 gs., Appendix cows in calf 20 gs to 36 gs., p.b. bull "Professor De Kol," 15 gs; grade heifers 6 to 11 gs; others £2 17s &d to £3 155.. grade weaner bulls 2£ gs to 5 gs; 18-month grade bulls 4 gs to 6 gs; best dairy cows (grades) £10 to £16; others £6 10s to £9 10s; aged cows £4 to £6, the whole herd of 34 averaging £8 ss; three-year filly £12; 2-year filly £14 10s; harness horse £11; pony £5; gig £15 ss; spring cart £14; mower £11; rake £8 15s; furniture and sundries realised full values. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. (Palmerston N.) report having held their usual stock sale at Mangaweka on 19th inst., when they offered a full yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle to a large attendance of the public. Prices realized were .well up to late sales. We quote as follows: —2th. wethers 15s, 16s 3d, 16s 6d to 17s 3d; 4yr. ewes 13s; 2th. ewes 15s to 16s; sound mouth mcd. quality ewes 9s to 10s; mcd. shorn lambs 9s to 10s; fat ewes 16s Id; maiden 4th. ewes 16s 6d; cull ewes 4s Id; fat cows £5 10s to £6; 18-mos. steers £3 19s; cows with calves £4; bulls £2 lls; weaner steers and heifers £2 7s 6d. Newton King reports as follows: —At Stony River yards, on Wednesday 18th, I had a good entiy of both sheep and cattle, but through the visit of the Governor to Parihaka occurring on the same day, there was only a small attendance. Good business was done, however, at the hammer, as follows —Weaner heifers 19s to £1 6s, weaner steers £1 7s 6d, bulls £3 17s 6d to £7, coloured 15 mths. heifers £3 4s. vealers £2, rough 15 mths. steers £2 lls, 3yr. steers (Jerseys), in forward condition £6 lls, small line of 3^yr. bullock (very fine quality cattle) in forward condition at £8 lls, fat cows £6 7s, fat heifers £5 Is, store and forward cows £4 19s, £4 Bs, £4, £3 7s, £3 os, £2 Is, £1 18s 6d, mixed age ewes lls, f.m. ewes 8s 9d, forward ewes 12s 9d to 13s 9d. fat ewes nnd.wethers 15s 6d to 18s 4d, lambs 8s 9d, 8s 3 6s, 5s 4d, 4s 9d.
