THE KING'S THEATRE.
A CAPITAL PROGRAMME
The programme presented .at tho King's Theatre last evening was of a particularly attractive nature. It was very strong in. dramatics. i:A Substitute Engineer" told of a young engineer about to fill a responsible position, who ioft a pocket-book containing his credentials and a photo or himself in a restaurant, where it was found by party of thieves, who waylaid and maltreated him and used his letters as <» guarantee of the bona-fides of one of their number, who became the substitute engineer. Sensational events followed. "The Parting of the Ways" was another thrillii*^ dii'anua, wltfch (concluded with the sensational rescue of a girl from a burning lighthouse. A splendid scenic was one showing scenos in Japan. Several very •■"laughable comics wero shown, and altogether the programme met with hearty approval. It will bo repeated this evening.
