WELLINGTON WOOL, SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALE.

The usual fortnightly sale took place to-day, when we offered good sized catalogues of bag wool, sheepskins, hitltes, tallow, etc. There was good competition at prices equal to last sales rates. Hides and good sheepskins showed a slight rise on last sales prices. We think that prices being paid locally at present for skins and tallow are fully up to London parity. We quote:

Wool: Crossbred, medium coarse, 8d to B|d, pieces and bellies s£d to 6^-d, locks and pieces 4d to 4fdj lambs Bgd, dead 8-Jd.

Sheepskins: Fine crossbred 7-|d to Bsd, medium to coarse crossbred 7fd to Bel, short to half wools 4-Jd to 63d, dead and dgd. crossbred sgd to 6;Vd, inferior and badly damaged 3d tol 4d, lambs 5d to 6|d, damn, salted and green 5s to 9s, l^its 2s to 2s 4d, salted lambs 2s to 2s 3d.

Hides: Ox heavy 8M to B£d, ditto medium 7£d to B£d, light 7gd to B£d v cow heavy 8d to 8 1-Sd.', cow medium 7J>d to Bd, cow light 7£d to 7 7-Bd, cut, slippy and superior 6d to 6|d, bull, stag 6 l-8d to 6 3-Bd, yearlings 7-Jd to B|d, calf superior 10-J-d to ll^d, calf medium to good lOd" to 10 7-8d 2 calf damaged 6 l-8d io Bd. Tallow in casks 25s to 27s 9d; in tins, etc., 20s to 23s 6d. Sundries: Rabbitskins 83d, horsehair lOd to Is s£d, cowtails Is 7d, horns Is 7d to 4s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd , Stratford branch, report as follows: On Tuesday, the 9th inst., we held a sale of pedigree Holstein bulls on account of Messrs Gunn nad Sinclair, Raetihi. These bulls have been imported from Canada, and. were eselected from tho very best milk and butter fat producing Hoisteins. The bulls, which are about 20 months old, were sold as follows: Lot I. King Johanna Walker, 20 gns; Lot 2, Prince Keyes Triumph, 24 gns.; Lot 3, Sir Pontiac Evertje de Kol, 20 gns. ; Lot 4, Mercena Evergreens. 25 gns; Lot 5, Pietje Johanna de Kol, 25 gns.

On Wednesday, the 10th inst., we held our usual monthly sale in our Kohuratahi yards, the day being one of tho worst known in this district for years. About 104 head of cattle were yarded, prices being as follows: Bulls 82s 6d to 100s.; store cow s 825., yearlings 50s.

During tho week we have disposed) of stock privately as follows: Fat ewes and lambs 20s to 225., mixed 2-tooths lls 6d to 145., 4-tooth wethers 15s 9d, 2-tooth wether s 145., ewes and lambs 18s 3d ta 205., yearling steers 64s to oos., store cows nad calves 86s.

Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. report

At our sale to-day wo offered a good catalogue of all classes of produce to a fair attendance of buyers. Prices for skins were firm at last sales rates lower quotations, •whilst hides were again a little easier. We quote:
