THE LYCEUM.
Another fine programme , is to bo screened iat the Lyceum this evening. One of the most striking picture is "The Substitute Engineer," a Kalem drama. A young engineer is appointed to a responsible position. He leaves his pocketbook, containing Iris letter of appointment and. a photo of himself, in a restaurant. This is found by a party of crooks, who determine to represent the real engineer and gain admission.to-the books and commit a robbery. They bind the real engineer and proceed On their nefarious business. Reaching the works, tha substitute engineer, who really .knows nothing about engineering, starts the- engine and lose^ control of it. Higher and higher rises the steam, •and; just as the place is about to be blown to pieces, in rushes tho real engineer, turns on the safety valves, lowers the pressure, saves "the catastrou phe, and frustrates the plans of tho substitute engineer. This is a fine picture, as is "The Parting of the Ways.1' Among ether fine picture is one depicting "Touring in Japan," the views given being fascinating.
