Gangsters 'who frequented Madison Square gardens during the bicycle race fought a revolver battle. One.gang ni criminals commandeered a street car, from tho shelter of which they poured a volley into the, other orang sheltering on tho street corner. The passengers threw themselves face downwards on t'io door, the bullets whistling through tho ■windows. When the police arrived the combatants leaned into waiting automobiles, and escaped. It is remarkable that no one was hurt considering tho hea-vv fusiljulo.
A bomb despatched by express was delivered, to a young factory girl named Aranette. It exploded, wrecking^ tlie factory, killing the girl, and injuring •■''veral workmen. The girl's head was blown off. It is not known who sent tho machine.
