(Times— Sydney Sun Special Cables.) Received 7-5 p.m.. December 14. MEXICO CITY. December 12. General Ma as, the Federal commander at Vera Cruz, denies that Tampied was captured by the rebels. He struts that the rebels were repulsed and driven off with heavy losses. The Federal force iclieved the garrison. During the fighting, the gunboat Bravo shelled the rebel position. There- are 350 refugees aboard the Kronprinzessin Cecillie. 130 on the Logician, 150 on American gunboats, and C')o are staying in a neutral zone.
