AVELLINGTON, December 12. Summary.—The barometric pressure fit&s increased slightly in the North, but lias decreased in the South. Strong ivesterly and northerly winds have prevailed, and the weather has continued unsettled, with, rain generally. Very foggy conditions have been experienced aiong the coast of the South Island to-duy. Forecast —Present indications rtio for strong and squally westerly winds changing to southerly everywhere snortly, with a rising barometer. UnSQttied weather is probable, and tho •conditions aro likely to be boisterous m many parts, with heavy passing showers.
