MR HILEY ARRIVES.
GETTING TO BUSINESS,
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 22. The General Manager of the New Zealand Railways, Mr Ernest EC. Hiley,. arrived by thV~' Lagiara to-night. When interviewed Mr Hiley said st " I shall be happy to see you later whenI am in a position to say something, but just now I would only talk platitudes."
Mr Hiley purposes to stay in Auckl&nd until Thursday night, unless hereceives advice from Wellington which ca.ii.ses him to alter his plans. He is anxious u> meet the Minister for Railways as soon as possible, and will see as much as he can of the New Zealand.' syj-i em* ias opportunity permits. Mr. Hiley spent three weeks in North America, and was able to inspect the Canadian Pacific system very thoroughly. He's iseccT/ipanied-by his wife, who is an Australian by birth. Their little girl is com ing later.
