WOMEN'S POLITICAL REFORM LEAGUE.

The usual monthly meeting of the Women's Branch of the Political Inform League was held in Dustin's Ltd' tea-rooms yesterday afternoon. The attendance was not as large as usual, but considering the many counter attractions it was very fair. Mrs. Liffiton was unable to attend owing to her injured ankle. Much symnatiir was expressed and was voiced "by"Mrs". Prison, Vice-President, who presided. Mrs. Polsoi. also expressed the Lengu* . sympathy with Mr. Carson in his late sad bereavement, and said th.it Mrs. Carson would be much missed by nil. The secretary spoke off the Social on Thursday, and particularly request>ed all members to attend and assist to entertain the invited guests, and help to make the social a- success. Music, games and competitions ore on the programme, and nn enjoyable time is anticipated.

The secretary read the ten resolutions brought forward by Lady Stout, and as presented to the Premie". Mrs. Ashto;! -moved thot they be endorsed by the Lo-urue. This was seconded by Mrs. Bp'obage and carried. The secretary also expressed the hono t'mt the T/p.igTo would sunport and increase the eirenicon io.f "Light and Liberty,"' and she announce J that badges wt.'e procurable for those desiring one. Mr. Liffiton was then called upon to address the meeting. The address embraced all the measures of importance carried or to be carried by the Massey Government. He concluded his address by impressing upon the women how very important it was that every woman should use her vote, and how important a swiay women had at the present time. At the conclusion Mrs. Ashton proposed a vote of thanks to Mr. Liffiton for his interesting address. This was seconded by Mrs. J. Ball and carried. Mr. Liffiton expressed his thanks in an appropriate manner. Afternoon tea w;as then xntrtaken of, Dustin's, Ltd., having provided a specially dainty one.

Before the. gathering dispersed Mrs. Poison said it was imperative that the secretary should be sent to Wellington to attend the Political Reform League Conference, and it was decided that Mrs. Sui-ited (secretary) should be sent by the League to represent the Wanganui Branch. Mrs. Poison. said she would also aitend some of the meetings, as she would be. in Wellington' during that time. Mrs. Suisted will leave daring the first week in October.
